Jenny and I didn’t mean to vanish from the blogging world. It just sort of happened. With the addition of baby Emmalynn to our family–amid a number of other changes–life kept getting busier. The good news is that we haven’t completely disappeared. The two of us simply stepped away for a few months to catch our breath. Some of the highlights of this time included a family vacation to Minnesota, sledding, a trip to The Mall of America, lots of relaxing by the fireplace, and breakfast with the pastor who performed our wedding ceremony. The good news is that life has finally slowed down enough to begin catching up–which I’m especially excited about because I have missed connecting!
Experimenting In 2017
It is hard to believe that 2017 is already here. My theme for the year is experimenting. I chose this word because there are many new ideas that I am eager to try out. These experiments may turn out wonderfully, or they might fall flat. No matter what happens, trying new things always brings fresh insights and growth–which is precisely what makes experiments so great!
One of my goals for 2017 is to write shorter books and more books. I am excited about experimenting with cover designs, a variety topics, and different writing styles.
131 Necessary Conversations Before Marriage
131 Necessary Conversations Before Marriage, is my latest writing experiment. My goal is to provide insightful, Christ-honoring conversations that every couple should–and must–have before declaring, “I do.” This book is an excellent gift for every engage and serious couple.
Jon Beaty was kind enough to write the first review and had this to say:
This is not just a list of questions–it’s a valuable tool for any couple planning marriage. Jed begins this book with interesting anecdotes from his personal experience and his experience as a marriage counselor, helping you identify habits that destroy a marriage and habits that make a marriage happy. The discussion questions that follow are great for getting to know your potential spouse better, and laying the foundation for a bond that can grow deeper and stronger in the years to come. Before you say “I do” invest in this book and use it. It’s an investment in your happiness you’ll be grateful for the rest of your life.
131 Necessary Conversations Before Marriage, is on sale for $0.99 through Sunday!
Book Launch Experiments
According to the experts, book launches are not supposed to be kept secret. Thus, I should have offered free review copies of this book months ago. Sadly, I can’t go back in time–although this would be a fun superpower to have. The good news is that I can still offer you a review copy. If this book interests you, and you would be willing to leave an honest review on Amazon, simply email me at email@example.com. Let me know if you prefer the eBook or paperback edition, and tell me where to send your free review copy.
Each and every review assists me in growing as a writer and helps this book get noticed on a crowed platform. So please don’t be shy in requesting a copy.
Catching Up With You
Finally, I would love to catch up with you! What have you been up to over the past few months? Do you have a new project in the works, a new goal for 2017, or a personal theme for the year? I am looking forward to catching up, and continuing our conversation in the comments below!
